This fish fossil is of a fresh-water fish found in Green River Formation, Wyoming, of the species Knightia. Related to Sardines and Herring. Many of these fish are quarried in Southwest Wyoming, in an area that once had several large lakes. This fish has been enhanced with a light coloring to aid it's visibility, but you can feel the fossil lines- it is real. The little fish is about 2 1/4" long. The total weight is about 3 oz. and the plate measures about 3 3/4" x 3" x 1/8" thick.
The great thing about this fish is you do not not need an aquarium.
